10 chefs battled it out to win the coveted title of Tilda
Chef of The Year, with each of the chefs having an hour to
complete 2 dishes of a main and dessert course both using
Tilda rice, the eventual winner who was chosen by the judging
panel made up of the Craft Guilds leading members was Andrew
Wood of York University who impressed the judges by serving
two fantastic courses that were both competition winners Second
was last years winner Simon Woods from Luton Hoo restaurant,
and third was Ross Turner from Hilton Dunkeld.
Sally Henley kicked off day 3 of Hotelympia with a Basmati
workshop, where she took her audience through an exciting
45 minutes covering off the Basmati story from seed to harvest
and also wowed with three exciting recipes including an Asian
Beef and Brown Basmati Salad, and a Sally Henley version of
Egg Fried Rice.
Martin Ashworth our intrepid northern sales manager ran the
Hotelympia 10k on Sunday 17th Feb in a great time.
