The 'Chefs for Heroes' team will be cooking up an array of delicious dishes over a two day event, to be held on the Isle of Wight, in July. This remarkable event will see some of the industry's top chefs catering for up to 2,000 people to raise funds for 'Help for Heroes', the charity which supports members of the Armed Forces wounded in the service of their country. Cyrus Todiwala OBE will be creating a spectacular 'Spice Island' feast on Friday night, assisted by the Gurkha Regiment, and Saturday will see a sumptuous four course menu served up by the 'Chefs for Heroes' team for the VIP Gala Ball. Cyrus comments, "I cannot stress enough how strongly chefs feel about supporting this worthy charity. But we can only donate our time and talents; we are very much reliant on the generosity of our suppliers in order to deliver the menus. We have already received a number of kind donations including Basmati rice from Tilda, an array of herbs, spices, sauces and pickles from McCormick and Pritchitts will be sending almost 50 litres of Millac Gold, such is the shopping list of ingredients we require - but we still need more!"
Immense organisation
James Millward, Commercial Director, McCormick (UK) Ltd, says, "What these chefs are giving for this notable charity is commendable. The least we can do is support them with a range of our products; especially as the theme is 'Spice Island'!" Mark Lyddy, Head of Foodservice, Tilda, adds, "Cyrus is a great ambassador for a number of industry charities and Tilda supports him whenever possible. This kind of event takes an immense amount of organisation and we are glad to be able to help in a small way." And Simon Muschamp, Head of Marketing, Pritchitts, concludes, "We are delighted to be associated with the 'Help for Heroes' charity and supplying our cream alternative Millac Gold for use by the chefs is a small gesture to show our support."
